MCCAA and Region XII Release Softball Post-Season Awards
LIVONIA, Mi - The MCCAA and NJCAA Region XII released their post-season awards which saw 4 Ocelots be honored.
Jordyn Emery- Jordyn Emery recieved the most honors as she was named to the All-Region Team, All-MCCAA Team, and 1st Team Eastern Conference. On the season, Emery hit .398 while boasting an on-base percentage of .465 and a slugging percentage of .602. 15 out of 45 hits on the year would go for extra bases as Jordyn would log 7 doubles and 8 triples, leading the team in both categories. Emery would also cross the plate 32 times this year while bringing in 20 runs with her bat.
Lucy Whelan- Lucy Whelan would follow up her freshman season which saw her named to the Eastern Conference 2nd Team, with a season that would see her named to the Eastern Conference 2nd Team, once again. In 105 at-bats, Whelan would slash .390/.508/.429. Whelan would be a weapon on the bases, leading the team with 31 stolen bases while only being caught 4 times. Lucy would have 23 walks on the season compared to just 14 strikeouts.
Aryanna Sandusky- The freshman infielder would appear in 32 games with a slash line of .324/.327/.371. Over 105 at-bats on the year, Sandusky would only strike out 7 times while recording 34 hits. Sandusky's power would flash 1 time as Aryanna would hit 1 home run in a 10-2 win over Henry Ford (3/24). Her performance would see her land on the Eastern Confernce Honorable Mention team.
Kaelyn Rozycki- Last season, Rozycki would be named to the Eastern Conference Honorable Mention team as she would hit .320 as a freshman. In her sophomre season, Rozycki would slash .307/.402/.356 in 101 at-bats. Rozycki would walk more than she would strike out as she would draw 16 walks compared to just 13 strikeouts. Her sophomre season would see her once again fall on the Eastern Conference Honorable Mention team.
