11 Ocelots Received Conference Honors
LIVONIA, Mi - The 2024 MCCAA softball awards dropped with a total of 11 Ocelots receiving honors.
Vanessa White – White would lead the way, racking up 3 honors for her season. Vanessa would be named to the All-MCCAA team, Eastern Conference 1st Team and Eastern Conference All-Freshman team. White would lead the team with a .429 average while having an OBP of .504 and a slugging percentage of .679.
Madison Gray – Gray would follow White on the Eastern Conference All-Freshman team and be placed on the Eastern Conference 2nd Team. Gray would hut .393 on the season with a .440 OBP and a .589 slugging percentage.
Sarah Collins – Like Gray, Collins would be placed on the Eastern Conference 2nd team for her work behind the dish. With a .982 fielding percentage and catching runners at a 37.5 percentage, Collins would also hit .302 with a .443 slugging percentage.
Olivia Mikowski – Mikowski would slash .382 / .441 / .504 on her way to being added to the Eastern Conference Honorable Mention team. Mikowski would be 2nd on the team in stolen bases with 15.
Shannon Mosesso – Shannon Mosesso did most of her work in the circle. On the way to being listed on the Eastern Conference Honorable Mention team, Mosesso would rack up 50.2 innings with a 4.97 ERA and a 6-5 record.
Macy Collett – Collett's speed would push her way to Honorable Mention. Collett would lead the team with 29 stolen bases, which would also be 4th best in the conference. Macy would also slash .325 / .415 / .374 in her sophomore campaign.
Raina Bonus – Raina's versatility would loom large for her to be named to the Honorable Mention team as a freshman. At the plate, Bonus would slash .295 / .404 / .318 in her 44 at-bats. In the circle, she would log 63 innings, 2nd most on the team, while having a 5.22 ERA and a 6-1 record over 9 starts.
Alexa Swiatkowski – Alexa would be the leader on the team in the circle. Logging a team high 78 innings, Swiatkowski would post a 6-5 record, also having a save, with a 6.28 ERA. Swiatkowski would join her teammates on the Honorable Mention list.
Amber Burzlaff – While registering 73 at-bats and hitting .370 / .378 / .425 Bonus would also contribute 12 innings in the circle, having a 2.33 ERA and boasting a 1-1 record. She would also be named to the Honorable Mention team.
Sydney Scoggins – Also on the Honorable Mention list would be Sydney Scoggins. On the season, Scoggins would slash .338 / .399 / .554 with tying the team high with 4 homeruns, tied with White and Gray, but also having a team high in at-bats with 139.
Camryn Keough – Playing in 35 games, Keough would slash .357 / .421 / .455 and steal 8 bases to be added to the Honorable Mention list. Keough would hit her first career home run in a 14-5 win over OCC on May 3rd.
