Ocelots Fall to KVCC

WINTER HAVEN, FL - Schoolcraft looked to knock off another Region XII opponent in Kalamazoo Valley after sweeping Ancilla College yesterday.

Schoolcraft Ocelots got on the board first in the second inning after a wild pitch scored one run. However, that lead would not last too long as KVCC would get that run back in the bottom half. The Ocelots took the lead, again, in the top of the third when Noah McCann would single, scoring one run, to give Schoolcraft Ocelots the leg up, 2-1. Kalamazoo Valley would capture the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the third after a double play, and a double down the right field line, each scoring one run.

Owen Shimel pitched three and two-thirds innings in relief for Schoolcraft Ocelots. The lefty surrendered three hits and zero runs while, striking out five and walking none. Isaiah Tobias took the loss for Schoolcraft Ocelots. The hurler went three and one-third innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on four hits, striking out four and walking five in his first career start.

McCann led Schoolcraft Ocelots with one run batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. Braylon Schroeder, Dalton Vance, and McCann each collected one hit for Schoolcraft Ocelots. Schoolcraft Ocelots turned two double plays in the game.

Schoolcraft returns to the diamond looking to get the bad taste out of their mouths with a doubleheader. The first game will be against another regional opponent in Owens Community College and the 2nd game against Minnesota Vermilion.
